Steart Farm is a quiet family run park with a wide range of facilities on site and close by. We accept touring caravans, motor caravans, trailer tents and tents of all sizes as well as providing storage and seasonal pitch facilities. There is no minimum period of stay and specific pitches may be booked in advance, subject to availability.
The site is situated between Bideford and Clovelly within the Heritage Coastline Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, being bordered by Woodland Trust land, with marked walks overlooking Bideford Bay. A footpath runs to the coast at Bucks Mills approximately 1 mile away where it links up with the South West Coastal Path. The entrance to Steart is signed clearly off the A39, and local bus services are available to other points on the coast which enable walkers to cover specific segments of the coastal path without having to retrace their steps.
The camping area is spread over 10 acres with a maximum capacity of 80 pitches. At present there are facilities for 70 pitches, most of which have electric hook-ups. A new toilet block, including a facility for people with disabilities, is now complete, and although the site is very popular with people visiting this part of Devon it is seldom filled to its full capacity even at peak holiday periods.
We cater for dog owners by providing a dedicated 2 acre, fenced and stockproof field where dogs may be exercised off the lead. We also have a separate 2 acre recreation area where all games are to be played with some simple activity apparatus, goalposts, and a volleyball area.
Your hosts, Robin and Lesley Croslegh run the site personally and are happy to discuss your particular needs before booking, please contact us by phone, fax, letter or e-mail or, alternatively, pop-in and see the site for yourself when you are in the area.
We are committed to being enviromentally friendly and have an active recycling policy with an average of 50% of the waste generated by the site annually being sent for recycling.
